Heard a noise outside and grabbed my camera, approaching I spotted this helicopter which to be honest we don't see very often as we are in a glider zone.
Perhaps the gliders are seasonal or something. It wasn't until I downloaded the capture that I realised it was an Electricity board helicopter that checks the overhead power lines to see if there are any problems. I might have plugged it in if it had a cable dangling from it, just to give it more lift. Alright I'm living in my fantasy world.
dam good close up Heather ! I was told they use thermal image cameras to check hot spots on the ceramic insulators by a friend who is in charge of a repair team in the Highlands
Great capture... we have seen numerous helos checking the powerlines here this year as they have replaced a bunch of older insulators, The ones here are contracted and are solid Black so we have the saying, Watch the Black helicopters. Often a person is hanging out video being taken of the work!!
