This is one of the best views of where I live and probable one of the hardest climbs I have made. I have to admit that this was taken a month ago but I knew I could save this for a grotty day.
I'm on Swifts Hill overlooking the Slad Valley running to the right, this was the home of Laurie Lee and the book Cider with Rosie. I bet they came up here in the Summers when they were younger. In front is the main town of Stroud and I live just under the tree line on the far left near to the sky or heaven.
I hope you agree that I do live in a beautiful part of the English countryside and wish others didn't just take it for granted. You really have to enlarge this with the black background to appreciate the view.
Yes, it is very beautiful. I have visited the Cotswolds many times and we both once sought out the Slad Valley as we knew LL's 'Cider with Rosie' was there. Fav, btw.
This a wonderful view of truly beautiful countryside. I love this part of the country. Dad and I have visited it often. Cider with Rosie is one of my favourite books.
@ivan Thank you Ivan for popping in and your FAV, you may be interested in this capture as well if you remember Laurie Lee:
