It was time to blow the Christmas cobwebs away and try and get a bit of fresh air, beats those cooking and drinking smells of the past weeks. So a nice walk above one of the Stroud's 5 valleys did the trick, even though it was a bit nippy out there.
Below is the Brimscombe Valley where the houses and cottages are built in lines up the hillsides on either side of the valleys, whilst in the bottom are the old mills and modern factories, nothing has changed for hundreds of years where people live and work.
In the old days the mill owners built these terraced houses and rented them to their workers, normally taking them out of their wages. Today these are now in private homes and I did own one myself many years ago.
This is a lovely landscape shot, love all the patches of colour.
