The other day I gave you photographs of Painswick churchyard, with views of the lychgate, a pyramid gravestone and an avenue of yew tree arches. So as it's Sunday today I thought you would actually like to see the church.
St. Mary's Parish church has stood on this site since 1042 - 1066 with the current nave and tower built around 1480. The spires wasn't added until 1632 and then strengthen after a lightening strike in the mid 1800's.
So you can see there is a vast amount of history here as with the town which has meant it's very popular from visitors from around the world, and of course a certain Lady Magpie
US does not have anything that old.
