I wonder how many of you are greeted with the affectionate greeting of "Hi Petal". I ask because I don't know if it's said in America, S. Africa or in Australia. To be honest nobody has ever called me petal because I'm neither petite or delicate and are usually greeted with "Hi H", "Hello You" and even "Oi"
I digress, so back to this lovely small Chrysanthemum, the first flower to be seen in my home this year. This is thanks to my neighbour who brought it over this morning, but I was surprised when I saw her standing there through the glass window in the back door. She was stood there with the pot in front of her as if she was going to a funeral. Opening the door I asked politely, "Have I died in the night", mind you she wouldn't expect anything different from me.
Fortunately I hadn't died, which was good job as I hadn't had my breakfast yet.
Very pretty and delicate. (I bought myself a chrysanthemum in a pot in France near to All Saints Day and Madame was so puzzled. She thought it was to put on a grave and could not understand when I said I was buying it for myself to take home to England!)
Lovely close up shot of this pretty flower. It is nice to know that you haven't died in the night, especially if you are looking forward to a particularly nice breakfast. My Dad used to call my Mum 'pet'. I wonder if that is short for 'petal'?
Hello Petal :) I had a friend here in Oz who always said Petal. And her other favourite saying was "Settle Petal" if you were getting flustered! Love your chrysanthemum and that your neighbour checks if you are alive :)

@fugitivemoments Thank you Linda, your Dad call your Mum Pet could well be the same, or it might be PET as in dog, cat or goldfish. (Wink)
