The sun’s shinning, the skies are blue and it’s that special day with so much expectation. I waited from early morning by my front door, just to greet my favourite postman Anthony and his cheerful smile. I was so surprised to see he had his his van with him today, perhaps there were so many sacks of Valentine cards he need the van. I helped him in with the mail, perhaps not my usual sack full and after a chat, bade him farewell.
A lovely cup of coffee and I sat down to open the cards from my admirers, would Tom, Dick or Harry remember me today, what lovely words would be written? I opened the first and was greeted with a card that said I had won £300,000 pounds in a draw, but I would have to send money to claim it. The second envelope contained an advert for window blinds, not what I expected at all. It continued until all the envelopes were strewed around my feet, there was not one word of love. Well I could mention the new car advert that said we would LOVE to see you at the dealers again.
I will just have to try harder this coming year, slimming down, wear seductive clothing, and generally flirting more with the younger men.
I'm joking really, I would rather have a Chinese Takeaway or a good plate of Fish and Chips.
Sound like my mail. I am with you, would love some good fish & chip or Chinese take away. Although it had fish last night it is hard to find good fish and chips. A good dose of malt vinegar helps them taste better.
