As it's Sunday I thought It was right to have a church as my picture today, and what a pretty church this is. Walking back into the village of Coaley I spotted this view of the local parish church, St. Bartholomews, over the hedge and it looks so nice against the blue sky.
The tower dates from around the 1450's but the remainder of this church was restored 1854-58. Nearly every village had it's church which was central to the community life, family graves going back for hundreds of years.
I took this the other day but the building was locked and so I couldn't see the stained glass windows. Unfortunately locked churches is a must these days and shows how times have changed over the years.
The clarity of this shot is phenomenal. Very impressed - fav. (am new to this - do I need to do something to mark it as 'fav' or does it just get picked up via comments?)
By the way, I found my first FTF yesterday without hubby. After my Saturday class, hubby called me to let me know that there was a newly published geocache and we were within a mile of it, so we can be First To Find!
Thank you all for your comments and FAV, appreciate them all and sorry for the bulk replies.
@juliac Well done on your FTF, I love them and have had 26 I think.
