How to hide a Telegraph Pole. by ladymagpie

How to hide a Telegraph Pole.

Again I was out geocaching and found myself in a the center of a very small Cotswold village. The area around an old phone box was overlooked by several cottages, so I had to do something to disguise what would haave look like a silly old strange lady with a funny hat (yes me) from looking a bit odd poking around.

The usual thing was to find something interesting to photograph, giving more of an appearance of a photographer rather than a weirdo. I suddenly noticed on the green, a few feet away from search area, this beautiful flowering bush that had been planted around the telegraph pole making the green more attractive.

As I was moving around like a professional photograph, you know the strange stance, moving here and there, I was actually fumbling behind the phone box to grab the cache. Not only did I find the cache container but also had a nice picture for 365.

By the way I still got some strange looks, especially from a man that drove away just as I arrived, and then again another look when he returned home and I was just leaving. Best viewed with a dark background.
Sunds as though you ad fun even if you did look a bit suspicious. Clematis Montana will definitely hide the pole as it is a very vigorous climber. Good shot

Fascinating story, Heather. We (365 people) do strange things (poking around and more) to find interesting subjects to photograph ;-)
