Dragged up from the Gutter. by ladymagpie

Dragged up from the Gutter.

Thank you again for all your comments and FAV's that put my "Me and red Boxes" on the pp page. I'll leave it with a comment from my Niece on Facebook, "Grey blends in well with red and gold! Nice hair do!" - I've now disowned her.

I once remember a very posh gentleman at an antique fair, making a comment to me after I had upset him when asking for a price reduction. He said "It's people like you who have been dragged up from the gutter that ask for reductions". Meaning at the time that my upbringing was less superior to his.

Well I spotted this blackbird who looks a bit scruffy and ruffled, stood in a gutter, perhaps the comment is more suited to this old bird rather than to me as a very old bird.

Best viewed with the dark background..
Nice caption, pic. Fun comment from niece, not so from the "gentleman".

This old bird is not dragged up from the gutter...he looks quite aristocratic, lord of all he surveys.And...the antique fair man was NOT a gentleman to say that. Love the roof tiles.

I'd be putting the antique dealer in the gutter! Hope you've never bought anything from him :)

Thank you all for your comments etc. You may like my answer to this snotty bloke, I said "You have now lost a sale and any possible sale in the future". His wife was giving him a real glare. He obviously was disturb by my Lady Magpie hat.

Well the man at the antique fair had obviously been dragged up with no manners. Blackbird is showing it's age. So am I. Great shot

Forgot to add - the fair is held every Friday in Cirencester.

@ladymagpie That's a kinder answer than I would have given. I would have said he definitely lost ANY hope of future sales to me, or to my shopping companions!

Great shot and story

He's obviously thinking about what to do next - which would have been a good tip for the guy on the stall
