Thanks you for all your kind comments and FAV's from my walk yesterday, I will try to give that Aurthur Itis the big heave-hoe through getting more exercise.
I found this unusual plant in my flowery friends garden and it reminded me of the feather duster I use to get rid of cobwebs from the ceilings. OK, lets be honest, my cleaners use it to get rid of cobwebs not me.
Not being a very knowledgeable gardener I had to ask what this lovely fluffy flower was and it's a "Liatris Spicata". The next thing was to look it up on the internet and found some very interesting names for it, such as "Button Snakewort" and more intriguing "Kansas Gay Feather".
Now I don't know Kansas at all, but do people there walk round with these in their hands tickling friends as they go.
I need a new duster. I guess I've been looking in the wrong place. And, living in Kansas, I might just have one growing in my garden. Let's hope it's as pretty as yours!
@jomo Yes I have 2 lady cleaners and live in a small bungalow, they only come every fortnight and would you believe I spend ages cleaning up for the cleaners.
Fascinating feather duster! Thanks for my morning giggle about about the Kansas people - I'm certainly not getting any giggles from our cricket team! Maybe you could go and dust off their woes with this feather duster :)
Hfefinately resembles a feather duster. I really like this photo! The flower in so interesting and I do like the color. It has good Dof and I like the processing! Very well done!
I've got one of these 'feather' dusters - its supposed to be magnetic for dust or something like this! But it doesn't have the very pretty colour of this one!
