First of all, thank you for all your lovely comments yesterday with the 2nd year anniversary of my Sister Mo's passing. I class all of my 365 viewers as close friends and you all gave me strength on a very sad day.
I have been out and about in the countryside and came across this gem hidden behind a pub in a small village. Today it's called St. Andrews Church but was originally known as a Chapel of Ease, attached to a much larger church a few miles away.
It was also in the grounds of a local manor but was moved to this place between 1676 and 1691. In the oak ceiling are the initials EW and the date 1637. When the large church in the village was dismantled this chapel became the village church for all the farmers and villagers. There is actually a path through into the pub grounds, I wonder why.
Please view with the dark surround for a good look at the Cotswold stonework.
