My local village have their own football team and this is the pitch they use on Saturday and Sunday. It may not be Wembley or Manchester United's Old Trafford Stadium, but what it does have that the famous clubs haven't got is that beautiful backdrop of hills and woods.
If you see the houses below the woods, my home is just off to the left at the same level on the hill. Going back to the 70's I was asked to referee a boys soccer match where my eldest Son was in goal for one of the teams. I had to keep warning him about his bad language and threatened to send him off. He said, "That's alright you would have to pay the fine wouldn't you". I didn't, but he did get it in the neck when he got home.
