I'm looking at the large Cotswold stone mansion in the background and wonder did they ever worry about the neighbours over the wall. Perhaps they did, as the dividing wall is 10 foot tall and they grew a huge hedge above that.
It's not that they are going to be noisy at night with wild parties and load music. Perhaps it's the thought of ghostly sightings and things that go bump in the night that make living next to a graveyard uninviting, do any of you have neighbours like this.
I'm not sure why but I'm fascinated by old tombs and graves, these 16th or 17th century ones can be impressive and show the wealth of the family. Just look at the domed one in the foreground compared to the very small headstone on the lower left. Regardless of wealth I'm sure they were both loved and missed.
Thank you for looking and commenting yesterday, view this with the dark background if you have time.
Lovely, I just wish inscriptions did not disappear with age, there should be a rule to remain clear so generations that follow can see them in years to come.
I saw this photo on FB & note that like me you like to tell a little tale with your photos....I call it rambling on but love to see & hear how other people live. Sometimes the words are more important than the pictures to me so I am following you now.
