I haven't done one of my views around the village for ages, and thought this Cotswold stone cottage would be the next on my target. The weather has turned completely round again today as we battle Storm Frank, so this was another from yesterdays sunshine.
I had to climb up a small track up a bank opposite to get the cottage in full view with what must be a wonderful rear outlook. The reason I love this cottage is because it looks just like the house that children draw with the door in the center and windows all round. I bet you draw pictures like this when you Mother or teacher said "Draw a house".
Thanks for all you comments and FAV's yesterday for my sunny view. I just hope that the storms today go over or you will have a capture of my feet or something.
Just lovely! The cottage and the view beyond are beautiful. Hope your stormy weather doesn't last long. And, oddly enough, I did take a photo of my feet today! Stay tuned!
A very honest house I think. What you see is what you get, a solid reliable home....I like it it's a typical northern house except the stone is more mellow than round here.
Wonderful cottage - bet it has a great view! Now I just have to share a little story about drawing houses - grandson Alex who is 3 drew his first house a few months ago. It was not as you described, but several square shapes joined together! He explained it beautifully - pointing to each square he said, this is the kitchen, this is my bedroom etc! Daddy is an architect and they were renovating their house and he was always trying different designs :) Hope you enjoyed it! Fav for your picture of a house and for listening to me!!
As soon as I saw this photo I thought this is just what kids would draw when told to draw a house. I thought that before I read what you had written. Great minds and all that!
I love how English houses have such cute small windows. Probably best to keep out the cold I suppose. I had forgotten just how small the windows are. Our houses out here in Oz have huge windows.
