First of all THANK YOU for all your comments and advice yesterday, I have taken notice and will start by being careful where I go during Winter. So here we go and a visit to part of the local town and a place called "The Shambles", and not a muddy or slippy place around.
"Shambles" means "Butchers stall and Meat-Market Slaughterers" and there has been a market here for centuries in one form or another. The original market benches can still be seen against the wall on the left as you go into the Shambles.
The Shambles is one of the oldest areas in Stroud and on the right is the Old Town Hall which dates from the late 1500s.
John Wesley the founder of the Methodist Church preached from the butcher's blocks outside the Church Hall on the left on 26th June 1742 and there is a Blue Plaque to commemorate the event. At the end of the Shambles are the double gates leading to St Laurence Church. There was a chapel here since Saxon times 410 to 1066.
Lovely shot and processing as well as nice information about the history - Fav. I really like your processing - what editing software do you use Heather?
Great historical information & good composition, Fav
