Standing Tall and Proud by ladymagpie

Standing Tall and Proud

I found this tree impressive all alone in a meadow, it almost shouted "I'm tall and proud" and so it is. A busy day with a builder replacing the gutters and fascia boards, but I left him to it and went shopping. Mind you he had to have a coffee first.

I stopped off on the hillside afterwards to find a today's capture and that's when I spotted the fir tree. The sun may have been out but there was a bitter cold wind and after a few pictures I couldn't focus as my eyes were streaming and blurring over.

It was back in the warm car and home to unload the shopping, ironically I had to stock the freezer up which was just as cold as being outside. Thanks for all your comments and valentine greetings, much appreciated. View with the dark surround if you have time.
Lovely shot, I like the background of the town.

Beautiful tree! Interesting note and if you were so cold perhaps it should have been a FUR tree! Good composition, colors and details!

Good thing you could be higher up than the tree and thus able to get its whole height in!

Wow this tree is huge. super shot.
A friend of mine is visiting the UK in about 10 days time. I think she is hoping it warms up a bit by then. She will only be there for 2 weeks as she is visiting her 94 year old mother.
