It's the cleaners day and as usual I was kick out of the way. So wondering what to do for an hour, I made my way to the local large antique center where I love to rummage and browse.
And yes I ended up spending money on these Doulton Lambeth teapots, dating from about 1890 and in perfect condition for 120 years old. If you look closely to the outside surface known as chine, this is produced by pressing lace into the wet clay before it's put into the kiln and then painted.
So is the saying "Tea for Two" or "Two for Tea" whatever they made a song about it. It's been an expensive day what with spending money on my teapots and also the cleaners, they found a small space in my Doulton Room, well that's the name my friends call it. View with the dak surround as it enlarges it making detail better. Time I think for a very old song:
They are so beautiful. I can see why you couldn't walk past them. Always good to feel a birthday coming on whatever the time of year it is. I have lots of 'birthdays'. ha ha. Had three last week.
