I think most people have their idea of the old country cottage, old with picturesque gardens and roses growing around porchway. Well this is just the case and if you didn't stop and look you could pass it by over and over again.
Not far from my home is this lovely old cottage on the end of a terrace. More than likely previously farm workers homes it really has some age if you look closely. The sagging roof and old chimneys give it character and it's just the shape that children would draw when asked to picture a house, 4 windows and a door in the middle.
Thank you for all your comments and FAV's, they keep me going.
One of the things I love about these homes is that they are all so different. Living in my neighborhood of condos, there is not much diversity. A fav for me!
Another beautiful old English capture! I do love them :) Must tell you a little story which comes to mind when you talk about children's drawings of houses - grandson Alex drew his first house about a year ago (aged 3) and proudly showed his mummy who was a little surprised. It was a group of squares joined together! Then "the penny" dropped!! Daddy is an architect and they had bought an old house that they are now renovating - and daddy had been drawing up multiple plans on the computer working out the best way to renovate! Alex's drawing was a floor plan!! And yes, she has kept his first drawing :)
Well captured too.
