Now I know this title may be a little naughty but I'm so excited I couldn't help myself. Looks like I have finally won my battle with the Starlings and they now only visit on an odd occasion. They can't get into any of my feeders except the flying saucer one which they can have for themselves.
All the little sparrows have been having a wonderful time since they have worked out how to get in and out, saying that I'm sure some are a bit thick and haven't worked it out yet.
At last the little Blue Tits have found this square feeder where the mealworms and suet bits are. So that's why I'm so excited. So there you go I've got Tits at last. Thank you for all comments and FAV's recently, much appreciated. View the birdie with the dark surround.
Glad I read your words as I was going to moan about keeping wild birds in a cage. But brill idea I need one of these as we have a similar problem with large birds and squirrels.
You won the battle Heather but was just thinking that you can't exactly see any food in this feeder so perhaps they think there isn't any!! I would think a bird like the starling would have a pretty basic intelligence so I think you fooled them!
well done Heather, you won this battle, wonderful
Now pray that these little birds will pose for you as payment, so we can see their beautiful feathers

@mrforja Hi Joseph - this was a purchase from Ebay. Search mealworm feeder and where the square cages appear you have a choice of different inserts for the cage - seed, peanut, suet balls and mealworm. Happy hunting

(PS: this looks a lot better on my 20" monitor then the 15" substitute that I have to use for a while)
