I went out yesterday to find a geocache in a nearby wood above my village. I really had forgotten my abilities and age, so yesterdays walk taught me a serious lesson.
I set off on my own from a lay-by just above the wood and dropped down to this main track. I knew I didn't have that far to walk but my GPS was playing up under the tree canopy and was sending me uphill and down dale.
I'm due a heart operation in 10 days time but felt well enough to try this out, I had taken precautions in letting my youngest Son know where I was going. I resorted in phoning a friend for some clues on where this cache was hidden, but by the time I located it behind a tree on a bank I was pretty exhausted.
I stopped for a breather on my way back to the car and took this picture of my route. My friend was concerned and phoned me on my progress. I was glad to get home with both my heart and lungs pounding and quickly took some medication, followed by an hours sleep in a chair.
So lesson learnt, I'm still not a youngster, my health isn't the best at the moment, and finally I should listen to my friends and family. I might have found the cache but I won't be tackling ones like this until after my operation.
It is a gorgeous capture but glad to know you won't be trying another walk like that for a while. Sending good thoughts and prayers for your operation. Please keep us posted!
A lovely capture of what looks to be a beautiful place but Lady M you really must be careful and sensible!! I do daft things too so I do understand. Very best wishes to you for when you have your surgery.
Thank you all for your lovely comments, I will keep you all updated.
