This weekend is the start of the nationwide great butterfly count, so I would like to start it off - ONE - how did I do. I must admit seeing many cabbage white butterflies at the moment, but not many red admirals which seem to be our normal garden ones.
I have just been up onto Selsley Common to go into a nearby wood to find a geocache. I found it but also found it quite upsetting as my old age is taking over and making walking on uneven ground difficult. In fact my right knee gave out and it was quite painful to get back to my car -ALL SAY AARH.
I did notice some beautiful little blue butterflies, believe to be called Adonis Blue, around the grassland of the common. I say grassland but under the heatwave we are having it looks more like a desert.
