Then and Now on the Cotswold Way

Some of you may remember that I used to have a weekly article in my local Stroud News & journal Paper, where I took a photograph from the past and produced it again standing in a similar position as the original photographer.

Well yesterday I came across this old picture taken around 1900 only about 800 yards from my own home. I just had to stop on the way home from shopping to reproduce the picture and share it to my Facebook old photograph page for viewers to work out the changes.

As for the Cotswold Way, this is a 100 mile walk though all the hills and valleys and is used by many walkers from all over the world. In fact just behind me, as I took this picture, were 4 ladies and two small dogs taking a break on a bench from their walk. If you look at my picture you will see a sign post on the route which goes over a stile and climbs a steep hill. Not for me these days with my wonky donkey leg.
Lovely contrasting shots. Fav!! 😀
