The Drunken Phonebox by ladymagpie

The Drunken Phonebox

Time for yet another walk, to stretch those tired limbs
Not too far from my door, to work on all my sins
I come across this old phone-box; it seems to have a lean
Drank too much through its years, or am I being mean
-
It’s empty now and has no use, it shouldn’t be like this
Could it be a library, or contain a medical list
What I mean is put a tool, to shock a heart to beat
A defibrillator in this box, would really be a treat
-
It’s had its uses through the years. Be it just a phone
To call our friends or relatives, in their distant home
But now’s the time to really help, our friends within the village
Be it people’s age and deaths, from this corona pillage
-
Deep in thought about this box, now I’m in my chair
It may be time to contact friends, with a little share
Put all our heads together, when everything is normal
And get some use from this box, and really make it formal.
Great capture. Fav!! 😀
