All alone am I, ever since your goodbye
All alone with just a beat of my heart
People all around, but I don't hear a sound
Just the lonely beating of my heart.
My lovely big Japanese Acer tree in my front garden has been subject to all the wind and gales over the last week, Yet one lonely leaf has held on whilst it's friends have blown away, never to be seen again.
The words of Brenda Lee's lovely song from 1963 came into my head, and I can't stop singing it now, just shows my age. With a new lockdown in the UK, this may also be appropriate for all of us who are alone,
You know you are old when you remember all the characters in "Rocky and His Friends". I don't remember the network, but remember trying to get my newspaper deliveries done so I could get home to watch it.
You can’t beat the old ones!
