Just a few days ago I celebrated my big Sister Mo's life who past away 8 years ago. As I said at the time we were very close and saw or spoke several times a day. When I visited her at home I always greeted her in the same way, "Hello little chooky egg", to which she always replied, "Hello big un", reference my weight.
It was incredible that on the sad day of her passing I walked into her conservatory where she had her bed and she was asleep, but I still said, "Hello little chooky egg", and although asleep still muttered the words as usual, "Hello big un".
Getting away from that sad day I suddenly realised I had this wall embroidery hanging up on my kitchen wall. Mo had made this for me some years before and cheekily spelt "No Spring Chook", on it, typical of her sense of humour.
As I studied it I suddenly notice that it had a fortunate word on it, I'm sure that it wasn’t meant. At the bottom left you have the word Chook, which is exactly my name H Cook.
Its makes me smile to see it, you keep smiling to.
Such a delightful applique work - I love the cheeky looking Spring Chook , so wonderful to have such sisterly love for one another , and a lovely piece of work to remind you of the special times with your sister - one never forgets ! fav
