Continuing my "Now and Then" series, this is Nailsworth Station about 3 miles from my home. It also the one end of the Nailsworth Cycle track that uses the disused railway line, a beautiful place to walk through the valleys and woods.
The Station was built in 1867 and closed for passenger use in 1949. Trains still ran on the line until 1966 as the goods yard remained open, and there was one special passenger train for steam enthusiasts in the same year.
I've just noticed that the station is up for sale for the right person who could come up with £1,200,000. Look up Nailsworth Station for sale, whoever has done this up has done a wonderful job.
Such a lovely old building , still looks very much the same on the exterior -- being nosy I found the for sale images - beautifully transformed inside though !
I love this, the building looks so much like the original which is so unusual in this day and age. I might even check my bank balance to see if I’ve got that 1.2 million left after all my Christmas shopping

A friend of ours bought a disused railway station in UK in the 1980s.
I’d want the tracks for that much money.
Fantastic comparison shot.
