I think this is the Lewis Hamilton of the snail world, as when I first came across it, a worm had been overtaken in a few minutes. The worm was so shocked it dived into the earth and disappeared from sight never to be seen again.
The faster it went its upper tentacles got longer and the lower ones felt its way across the stone slab. I decided to test its speed and placed it on one side of the slab. I went indoors, had a cup of tea and a biscuit, before checking Snail Lewis progress.
It was fantastic as it had reached the other side and decided to climb in its shell and have a sleep. When I get a chance I must find some competition and paint numbers on the shells. If it proves it's the fasted then I'm going to offer my management skills and enter it in either the Monaco GP or Silverstone in the UK.
You never know how much a s-Nailsworth, the town where you have been viewing my “Now and Then” series and the station.
Great shot.
