Daylight Robbery by ladymagpie

Daylight Robbery

Now we are staying in the town of Nailsworth, or Snailsworth as I call it after yesterday’s snail, for my next "Then and Now" series. If you remember when I talked about the old fountain being moved to make the road wider, as this is the same road, even more drastic demolition took place here.

If someone robs a bank then they try to take all the money from the safe, in this case someone has actually pinched the whole bank, this is what the building was. It certainly left a big hole in the town as also next door The Kings Head Pub was pulled down as well.

On the left was the Subscription Rooms, which I remember it as the Nailsworth Boys Club. How many more buildings were destroyed just for the benefit of transport?

Keep smiling.
Love you are then and now series Heather! Wishing you a very happy new year. Your friend Yoland.

A nice comparison - too bad about the historic bank building (happens all the time here in the US - tear down a building in the name of progress) Hope you are having a great last day of 2021. Oh, and this is a fav for me.
