When you get old and decrepit as I am, there is one thing that is really nice, and that is an afternoon nap. Sometimes I'm too busy, sometimes it's in my reclining chair and If I'm really desperate I actually go to bed.
The main problem is that I have to remember so many other things before I can have that lovely nap. First put my laptop to sleep mode, next switch off my 4 o'clock alarm that tells me to take my afternoon tablets, or wait until after 4 when I have taken my tablets, and finally change my mobile phone to “Do Not Disturb”. After all those jobs I need that nap and often forget one of them.
Now just like this cat, I love to get comfortable, but often get disturbed when I'm in my reclining chair and the fridge/freezer switches itself on or off. Then there is the boiler in winter that goes on and off. If I go to the bedroom then I hear passing traffic or my neighbours parking up at the back yard.
I'm going to try a cat nap like this lucky moggy on the bench outside, it does look very comfy and it totally ignored me, I hope it was alive.
Ooh ! how gloriously stretched out on that bench , basking in the winter sun -- although may be tempting it may be a tad too cold and hard on the wooden bench for you at the moment ! keep to your recliner or bed !! :) fav
You would think it was the middle of summer here Heather…..a sheltered spot, cats always get the best seat. I have trouble enough sleeping at night time without having an afternoon nod!
I used to have a sweatshirt with a drawing of a sleeping cat on the front and it said, "when all else fails, take a nap;" your picture and description reminded me of that old sweatshirt
