The Dog Fence by leggzy

The Dog Fence

AKA- The Dingo Fence.
Cameron Corner - where NSW, SA & QLD borders meet. I am standing on the SA side.

A bit of history:
The Dingo Fence or Dog Fence is a pest-exclusion fence that was built in Australia during the 1880s and finished in 1885, to keep dingoes out of the relatively fertile south-east part of the continent (where they had largely been exterminated) and protect the sheep flocks of southern Queensland. It is one of the longest structures in the world. It stretches 5,614 kilometres (3,488 mi) from Jimbour on the Darling Downs near Dalby through thousands of kilometres of arid land ending west of Eyre peninsula on cliffs of the Nullarbor Plain above the Great Australian Bight near Nundroo.

The only fence I lke is the Christo’s Running Fence.
In my neighbourhood farmers seldom use fences. Only protected nature areas have.
Great capture of this one

When I was a kid my Aunty and Uncle lived on the border of QLD and NSW. They were responsible for patrolling part of "the dog fence" to make sure it was damaged or that dingoes hadn't dug under it. I have fond memories of visiting there from SA. Thanks for rekindling the memory.
