There were clouds but not enough to spoil the show. Everyone started clapping when we hit the maximum that the sun would be covered from our geographic location in Gaithersburg,Md. Wonder what a camera and phone will look like in 2042, when the next solar eclipse happens over the United States?
We watched from Fort Erie, Ontario, which is the area where my grandparents grew up. Last time there was one there (1925), they were teenagers. While we were there I wondered a little if they watched it and how their experience would have been compared to mine. My guess is a lot the same, but also a lot different!
What an amazing photo! This is really excellent! I would love to be alive to see the next one, but I doubt it’s going to happen. I like your thoughtful question about it though.
