Elephant Trials at the National Zoo had a pre opening for members today. It was a $56 million overhaul and took sevens years. It is now a wonderful place for the three elephants if you have to live in a zoo. Can you believe he weights in at over 7000 lbs.
We talked about stopping in to the zoo today, but it was just so very cold. Instead, we took a two mile hike around the tidal basin are in search of one blooming tree, which we finally found along the Potomac! Love your elephant photo!!
@swguevin I actually overdressed and had to lose a layer, the hat and gloves it really wasn't bad there. You thinking first week of April for full bloom at the basin?
