Went to fill the feeders at the park and then walked down to the bird blind with camera in hand. The lake has a few large spots that are not frozen. Tuesday nights dusting has covered the ice. So all that white is snow on the lake. The lake is also singing the song of melting. Wasn't sure what the sounds were at first . It must be easier to take off from the ice since they would come out of the water before taking off. It did make it easier to know and get ready to capture take off. Was a sunny day and it finally made it into the mid-twenty. Big Red is happily parked in the driveway salt free ...
Black Hills Park asked if they could use my Rise and Shine picture as their Facebook Cover. Of course I told them it would be an honor :-)
@lesip Wow I'm surprised it isn't darker then? I only seem to be able to get those kinds of shutter speeds at higher ISO or bigger aperture? Looks great anyway although will be hard to beat your AMAZING yellow one the other day :)
@aliha it was a little darker. I brought out the shadows, brought down the highlights and increased the exposure a little in Lightroom . Which is why you can see so much detail in the geese. It was a full sun, no cloud day. Clouds are back today . Looking out my window this morning the pre-sunrise was amazing... Darn it. Guess you can't shoot them all...lol
@lesip The 40's are an improvement. You make me laugh and for that I thank you. Stay nice and warm. We had unexpected rain last night but not all of CA got it. Sure is dry and cooler this morning but up to the 60's today. Crazy weather everywhere.
@lesip haha I haven't been able to drag myself out of bed to shoot a single sunrise in a long time so you are doing far better than me! I had a bleary squint out the window at the clouds at about 4 this morning as I went back to bed with my six-month-old … yes that processing all makes sense. Great result :)
