I was lucky enough to catch a ride with a photo club member going to get a moon shot downtown a day early. Where yesterday was cloudless sadly not the case today. This memorial was very close to where we will be shooting tomorrow. I have never been to this spot so since the moon has been up for over an hour and we still can't see it through the clouds I headed over to the statue as the sun was setting.
Turned around thirty minutes later to finally get a glimpse of the moon. It was high above the monuments. Hopefully better luck tomorrow.
The United States Marine Corps War Memorial represents this nation's gratitude to Marines and those who have fought beside them. While the statue depicts one of the most famous incidents of World War II, the memorial is dedicated to all Marines who have given their lives in the defense of the United States since 1775.
Fantastic capture of this famous landmark. Your shot is really wonderful with the golden hour beautiful tones. FAV. BTW my son is moving this weekend very near there :)
@anazad511 sky is actually blue but played with it in lightroom. It looked like a very nice area to live in.A group of young man were getting ready to jog to the Washington monument and back from here. Ah to be that fit again....
Incredible shot! As a veteran of 20 years of service to our country this shot carries a lot of emotion and feeling for me. Thank you for taking this shot! FAV!
