Well lets see, Thursday sunset, Friday mid-day, Saturday sunrise. Think I covered it. Missed the moon by minutes. Watched it all the way to the fields, set camera up and CLOUDS.... it had an hour and a half till it set but the clouds never broke. Thankfully the clouds were not solid where the sun was rising. I would say by the time I left 8am there were 75 photographers there. Gravel lot full and the road was lined with cars. I arrived at 5 am. The sunflowers were so happy to see everyone ....
@etchasketch1 no not this time although I did bring my speedlight . Played with the exposure compensation till I could make out the flowers and adjust the shadow slider in Lightroom. Was very happy with results.
Fav - and if I could, Fav again. What a magnificent shot. Love the light you worked out, the composition, the colors, the skies - just stunning. And from what you said, not a "hidden gem" spot. Bet there wasn't a shot taken that would beat this one.
@milaniet it was a hidden gem till a photo of a little boy in the fields made the Washington Post newspaper a couple years ago. It's a major paper here. I joined a photo club a year and a half ago and they knew about it and it's location. I was in heaven last year seeing it finally in person.
A field of sunflowers I'd love to see this!
