I can't believe a whole year has gone by since I retired. I knew I wanted to post a shot like this but didn't know how hard it would be to find a cupcake this fit my vision. Thinking ahead I looked at two different grocery stores yesterday and didn't see anything. So out the door I went today in search of the perfect cupcake. First stopped at the grocery store I retired from and visited with quite a few former colleagues but no cupcake I liked. Next was Wegmans and they had the size except they all had a Halloween theme going on. Tired of looking I settled on one of the orange and black ones. They put it in a nice container and off I went. Put the bag in the car with the cupcake and few other purchases only to turn at a light and have the bag turn on it's side . NOoooo Yep, messed to cupcake up so I just had to eat it. Did a few things at home and Bone's shot for the day before I headed back for another cupcake. I was going to buy the first cupcake I saw, at this point I didn't care what it looked like. lol Of course there it was the cupcake I'd been looking for all along. Not really the shot I envisioned in my head but by this time I had had enough and just wanted the darn shot. Okay I'll stop honestly it is great being retired as long as you don't stress yourself out trying to get a cupcake for a picture.
jealous! wish i could retire now. i still have four years. re the cupcake. and all you shot was the icing???? admit it, you ate the cupcake, didn't you!
@summerfield LOL absolutely not after the first 1000 calorie cupcake . I had that magnifier thing on the lens and it wouldn't focus when I backed up enough to include the cake. But I'll have to remember that for the next time.
Saw this on the TP and stopped by to view it. Congrats on your one year retirement anniversary, but I really enjoyed your story about your journey to find the one perfect cupcake... which, of course, you did, eventually. We all run out of time. Don't worry about it. :) A really lovely shot, in all possible ways.
