No lens was harmed in the making of this photo (thank goodness) although my lens mug is pretty dinged up now. What we won't do for our art. Well, personally I'm not going to drop my lens for it. I played with the shutter speed and decided I liked the lens blurry instead of sharp.
Great shot. How many times did you have to drop the mug to identify the best shutter speed and get the mug in the right position within the frame and facing the right way?
@bob65 changed the shutter speed 3 times . Camera on a tripod about knee high pointed down and only a couple feet from away from me. I was able to use my wired shutter release to trigger camera. (Mug in one hand, release in the other)The hard part was dropping and clicking at the right moment. Maybe 15 shots with 2 okay ones. Then I thought to switch to continuous mode and I got much better results. I'm dropping the mug from about knee height so getting it to face the way I wanted was easy. After viewing the first batch of continuous shots dropping the mug vertical I dropped it holding it at an angle . Thought the angle looked better. Hope this makes sense.
great
