Shade No More by lesip

Shade No More

Went to visit with mom and pulled up to this. I sadly missed a shot of Mr. Tree before take down. Childhood memories of laying under your shade, playing hide and seek using you as base and raking your leaves to jump in. You were a grand old Maple tree and the house looks naked without you. RIP Mr. Tree
Interesting collage choice - it looks like a jagged cut - which this tree suffered! Looks a great crew here who tidy up after themselves!

@maggiemae it was sad to see this 50 year old tree go but the crew was fantastic.

Oh, this collage and story remind me of "The Giving Tree," by Shel Silverstein. http://schools.nyc.gov/NR/rdonlyres/35C1809B-B30D-450E-AE7C-1F399C7CA5AF/155278/TheGivingTreePoem.pdf

Thanks, Leslie! If you ever see the book, the illustrations really enhance the story. I wanted to make sure that you see this link: http://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/26309/friendly-reminder-city-challenge-san-francisco
I remember your wonderful San Francisco photos, but there is one that particularly stands out over the rest. I think you know which one.

@cejaanderson I love the one that doesn't count . bridge rail in the fog. A few I have from the same spots. Gosh I have so many which one were you thinking of? Have a little picture idea for our meetup with the balloons. I'll email you it.

I went to look, and you do have so many! I don't know why one wouldn't count. The competition is different. The first was Venice, and you could post any from the past as it certainly wasn't expected that people would travel to Venice in a certain time period. Now the city is San Francisco. The one I was thinking of was from Jan. 1, but you could tag any that you wanted to enter. You can see the ones that are already there, and I don't think there are any like yours from Jan. 1. I'm eager to hear your photo idea!
