The barrel racing is always fun the watch at the rodeo. This early in the season it happens well after sunset so it's pretty dark. I told my friend I was going to see what I could capture with me 50mm and he handed me his 85mm 1.4 What a difference a fast lens makes in low light and it gave me a little extra reach.
I tried shooting at an indoor rodeo once and it was horrible. You are so right about the light and this is such an impressive photo because of that. Fabulous action, terrific focus and already on the PP. Congratulations!
@ukandie1 He used my 70-200 2.8 and got some great shots. I'm not really a portrait photographer so not tempted with the 85mm but I'm always tempted to buy a new lens ....LOL
