Today the National Zoo had a big birthday party for Bei Bei's first birthday. All the panda's got cakes. Unfortunately Bei Bei had no interest in going outside to have some cake but mom Mei Xiang who is pictured here licked it clean.

So creative! We have panda's too now in one of the zoos, including a newborn. I'm afraid I would never catch a glimpse of it due to the hordes of spectators surrounding the general area...
