We took a bus tour to the Yukon sign in Canada from Skagway, Alaska with lots of stops along the way. At one point a group of people had pulled over and were looking up at the mountain. Our driver pulled over and asked what they were looking at. Mountain goats was the answer. They looked like little white blobs of snow till you saw the snow move. We didn't notice there was a baby till mom went on the move. I took my bazooka lens on the vacation (150-500mm) and this was an excellent time to use it. They are right across the highway and way way up high on the side of the mountain. I shared the shoot on the back of my camera with the whole bus and got emails from a few who wanted a picture. Without binoculars or a long lens you really don't see anything but white blobs that moved.
I remember at the top of a mountain in Switzerland seeing the same thing - way up high, it was exciting if you saw anything move out there. Your zoom is very good!
