Monarch #20 made her appearance today. Three emerged on Labor Day but sadly would not pose for pictures. Guess it was their day off and they were ready to be on their way 🙂 . I have lost track of the male/female count but think it's pretty even. Sadly 3 never completed the journey of butterflydom. One died in chrysalis, one formed half a chrysalis and one made his way to hang on the ceiling of the habitat and never formed a chrysalis. I never imagined 3 milkweed plants (they are just about stripped clean of leaves) would yield so many lovely monarchs.
