Our tour of the garden centre’s of the north-east and their scones took us to Stonehaven. I do find it difficult to have a bad jam and scone but I’m sure they exist.
We came back through the centre of Stonehaven and along by the beach. It was wild today even with a 30mph easterly - last weeks 60mph would have meant not opening the car window for a photo.
Beautiful, yes, I hope it will be better when I pass there on Friday, I'm traveling with Norrøna tomorrow evening to Denmark, you have to wave when I sail past there😊
Lovely atmospheric image. You'd have had a bad scone day yesterday if you'd come to my place! I made some scones and was sorely disappointed! My own fault though. I didn't have the exact ingredients; I used plain flour and added baking powder, used gluten free flour as I'd bought it by mistake, used oatly milk as it was all I had. Result. Dry scones. Horribly dry, crumbly scones! However, my saving grace is that they work as a crumble, on top of stewed fruit. So they've been frozen and will be used up gradually.
