After 20 years it’s time to rest

This sweet train has been ridden by thousands of children over the last 20 years. Our friends have had a train event for local charities all those years at Christmas time. It was an antique when it was purchased all those years ago and this year it just finally could not run any more. So after 20 glorious Christmases, it is just for display now. Our grandchildren loved it and last year our great grandsons rode. Sweet memories now.
Very cool shot and I love your pov on this.

How wonderful that your friends have had this train in their yard for 20 years and gave all those children the opportunity to ride and create such special memories. That is truly remarkable! Excellent shot! :-)

Great train- wish your friends knew our friend Roland- he is a genius when it comes to getting old engines to run. I'm glad it's still on display though. Good shot!

Thank you for your comments on this sweet train. We’ve had so much rain this year our friend’s side lawn is no longer level, that was the main reason the train wasn’t running this year. It couldn’t stay on the track! They just decided that after 20 years it was time to end the train event. They are in their 70’s and it’s just too much work honestly!
