We are in for a week of extreme heat, 105 F (40.6 C) and higher so I know my flowers are going to suffer. I’m moving all my pots to the north side of the house today and will try to just keep them alive for the next 10 days!
A lovely shot Lou Ann, such a pity for the flowers though. I lost so much this last summer as we also get those extreme temps for about a week. Good luck with the moving ;-)
A lovely view Lou Ann , love the vivid green of all your ferns ! - my gardens are looking very drab just now with this heat , even the pots are suffering in spite of being watered daily !
@beryl the man at my garden center explained to me that when the pots get so hot, they kill the flower’s roots, no matter how much they are watered. I just hope to keep them in the semi shade on that side of the house so maybe the pots won’t get as hot. Will see. All I can do is try! @ludwigsdiana thank you, Diana!
Your garden still looks quite green and healthy I hope the heat doesn't get to it too much. We can't have plants in pots here because they dry out too quickly in summer.
What a charming POV! That garden looks as though you live in the tropics! (Spray it frequently and the plants will think they do!) ...such odd weather...really chilly yesterday and now hot again today!
we, too, are in hades since last week. there are thunderstorms predicted for tonight but that would only offer a respite of a few hours as the next few days are going to be as bad if not worse. the humidity is really killing me. the plants will survive maybe if you dip the pots in water, say by the river if there's one near you.
Such a lovely shot, a beautiful glimpse into the garden. I have no idea how you cope with that heat, I'm struggling here in the 30s. At least complaining about the weather makes us happy :)
@gijsje@carolmw@happypat@summerfield@radiogirl@joemuli@suzanne234 Thank you so much for commenting. I really can’t be surprised, these hot days are fairly common in July and August. We usually don’t have them 10 days in a row, though. You are so right, @suzanne234 we all love to talk about our weather! 😊
Good idea about moving them - our forecast is about the same - may have to try that tomorrow to save some of the ones on the patio. Water bill is going to look worse than the electric bill!
High temperatures here too. Brown grass, dried flowers. The garden is a mess...
With the humidity we are up to 37C!!
