I was intrigued with the water lily seed pods at the pond. People actually plant water lilies from the seeds. It is a long drawn out process, over several months, to get the seeds to the point they are usable, though.
@ludwigsdiana there are so many varieties of water lilies I cannot even settle on what these are. All I do know is these are water lily seed pods, at least here in Texas. Perhaps Lotus is an international word for water lily!
Well ! I never knew that these seed pods were from lilies ! My waterlilies die and just wither away ! They look like aliens , don't they ! We use to buy these for composition flower arranging !for the more exotic looks !
Wow Lou Ann I have learnt something here. I never knew these strange shaped seed pods belonged to water lilies! For a beautiful flower that lives in water they are strangely hard & unforgiving.
@happypat I will post a photo tomorrow of one of the flowers with the immature pod in the center. I sure have learned a lot about these plants from 365 today too!
