The Chapel’s Chandeliers

The steps to the Chapel on the Dunes had sea grass, prickly pear cactus, and these gorgeous flowers growing wild. The wild, unkept landscape is so compelling, walking up to the chapel. I had never seen these flowers and when I researched them I loved their name.
It does look like a chandelier.

@k9photo @gijsje @danette @mittens @ludwigsdiana @kwind @dide @carole_sandford @koalagardens @claudiet @joansmor @bkbinthecity thank you so much for your nice comments and faves! That “tree trunk” on the left is really the base of a huge prickly pear cactus. I was so surprised to see such a big prickly pear.

These must have been what I was thinking was red leaves yesterday. How unusual they are.

@pusspup @gilbertwood @taffy @milaniet @radiogirl thank you! I was happy to see this on the PP and TP this morning. The chapel and grounds are so special.

@milaniet they do look like leaves! They are super hardy, the landscape gets absolutely no attention. Between blistering sun and wind for 90% of the year and an occasional hurricane, the landscaping looked kind of miraculous to me. It adds so much to the chapel experience.
