Bonsai! by louannwarren

Bonsai!

The Bonsai tree Jill gave me for Mother’s Day has not minded the 14” of rain we’ve had this month. I fretted that it was getting too much water but it does have drain holes in the little planter it’s in. I certainly haven’t had to mist it so it wouldn’t dry out. Ha. I liked the rain drops on the leaves.
The rain drops are so lovely - nice DOF as well!

Love shot of this pretty plant.

Everything I have is soggy - even with drain holes - can't run out fast enough :) Bring on some sunshine, please! Love how healthy this little bonsai tree looks.

oh nice, wonder what it is, at first I thought it was just jade

So much rain! Do you have instructions for keeping your tree "little"?
May 26th, 2020
Like Katrina @koalagardens I thought it was a jade plant too.

It seems to be enjoying the rain.

Love the raindrops!

@Weezilou I do not have instructions. It seems to be a type of succulent, similar to the jade trees we all had in the 70’s. I’m sure I can get on Wikipedia/Google and learn how to prune it. Of course I’m terrified to touch it. It’s 3-4 years old now.

@milaniet we have sunshine this evening, it is beautiful. 😊

@koalagardens, @onewing oh! I just saw your comments. It does remind me of a jade tree but it’s in such a tiny pot....maybe the pot size limits it’s growth?

@radiogirl @pcoulson @carolmw @happypat @gijsje @ludwigsdiana @mittens @365karly1 thank you so much for your wonderful comments. This is going to be a work in progress for sure. I will keep you posted!

This one is stunning with all those little drops in great detail. Nice shallow DOF

@louannwarren indeed the main way bonzai works is by keeping the tree pot bound to stop it growing to normal size. maybe it is a bonzai jade

@louannwarren haha...we DID all have Jade plants back then! If you've had it that long, it's doing fine! I thought you'd received it in recent months and had to trim the tap root or something like that!

Can't go wrong with raindrops on leaves. Love those Bonsai plants.

It looks like it's really healthy. Lovely green too.

@Weezilou Jill gave it to me for Mother’s Day this year! The tag on it said it was 3-4 years old. I’m just hopeful it won’t die at least for a while. Ha!

So green & healthy looking ....lovely raindrops.

You have had a lot of rain! But for now it still looks healthy and beautiful with the droplets!

Very nice

Nicely captured! As long as you monitor it, I'm sure it will get all the care it needs.
