Grapevine’s Main Street Sunday

This image shows how Covid is affecting our cities. This street is usually lined with cars and people are everywhere. Jerry had parked and I was walking around taking photos when I turned around and saw the clouds, they gave us a lot of rain, at our home 15 miles away. We were thrilled.
Wow amazing shot. The sky looks rather ominous. fav

July 6th, 2020
How those empty streets take you back in time...I almost expect a couple of cowboys to appear with guns for a street shoot out! Glad it’s rained!

I’m not quite sure how you achieved the effect you have shown here but I love it! It’s a definite FAV It looks kind of like a Norman Rockwell painting.

wow those clouds really add the drama to the empty streets
July 6th, 2020
Gosh what a sky above the emptiness of the street - - it could be a scene from a mystery movie ! fav

@onewing @mittens @elatedpixie @shepherdmanswife @ingrid01 @ludwigsdiana @happysnaps @louannwarren @kaylynn2150 @pistache @mgmurray @carolmw @ggshearron @gijsje @bkbinthecity @marylandgirl58 @k9photo @happypat @joemuli @grammyn @koalagardens @beryl @pcoulson @joansmor @carole_sandford @radiogirl @kaylynn2150 Thank you all so much for your wonderful comments and faves. This is on the TP and PP today, thank you! Of course once I downloaded the photo I had the usual what if’s: what if I had charged my Nikon camera? It would have been better. What if I had stood more in the middle of the street? What if I had waited till a bigger car with brighter lights was coming? You all know those what ifs! @carole_sandford @kaylynn2150 @beryl @ggshearron I actually felt this was a Marvel Comics Dark Knight street scene!

@milaniet @stray_shooter @777margo @ziggy77 that gritty street made me think I should title this “Texas Grit”. Thank you so much for your great comments and faves!
July 7th, 2020
Wow, dramatic storm you captured!

This has an eerie- a tornado is about to hit- kind of feel to it (although I know it's just rain coming in!). I think it depends on where you live and what is re-opening. Our streets are back to normal and even though hours are shorter and customers are regulated as to how many can be in a store at a time due to the size of the business- things are fairly close to normal here. It could be the demographics as well. It's true though- so many business affected by the way governors locked down businesses- at least here. Lowe's was allowed to stay open but our local hardware store was forced to close until 2 weeks ago- a totally biased and arbitrary decision by our governor. Oh well, enough of the soap box! Great shot!!
