“Support our farmers & their efforts to provide us with REAL food.”

The old building restaurant I posted yesterday had this jar by their cash register. The sign on it reminded me of New Zealand’s ongoing farm crisis. The very same dilemma is faced every day by America’s farmers. This restaurant buys fruits, meat and vegetables from the farms in their area. It is a real “farm to table” enterprise.

So good to see your support for farmers world wide Lou Ann. For some reason they seem to be being blamed for everything…..cheap food is the aim for everyone it seems but the labour involved in phenomenal. Climate control rules which are good but totally unfair on the average family farm. Same applies in the UK too where family dairy farms are giving up by the hundreds.

Great story and effort to help farmers. I try to buy as much local produce as I can- and if hubby had stayed in college, he probably would have landed in the agricultural industry in one way or another. He loves farms! Nice shot.

Growing up in West Texas made me keenly aware of farming and farmers. I have always gone to farmer’s markets for fresh vegetables and fruit when they are open. I think this jar and it’s sign’s real purpose is to keep the farmers on people’s minds so when crazy laws are trying to be passed that hurt farming we will go vote!
